Beta Terms

By creating or using an account, you agree to these terms for the BuddiesIRL beta.

Who may use the beta

You must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate account information, keep your password private, and be responsible for activity from your account.

What BuddiesIRL is—and is not

BuddiesIRL helps adults share social plans, ride requests, check-ins, and buddy alerts across different kinds of Circles. It is not an emergency service, security service, transportation provider, medical service, or guarantee that another person will respond. If anyone may be in immediate danger, call 911 or the appropriate local emergency service.

Nearby and personal safety

Nearby may include strangers. Meet only in public places, arrange safe transportation, do not share a home address or sensitive information, and use Block or Report if needed. You are responsible for deciding whether and how to meet or assist another user. Venue recommendations may contain Google Maps content and are also subject to the Google Maps Platform Terms. A recommendation is not an endorsement by BuddiesIRL.

Acceptable use

Do not harass, threaten, impersonate, stalk, exploit, discriminate against, spam, deceive, or endanger anyone. Do not post illegal content, misuse SOS or reports, attempt to bypass access controls, scrape data, interfere with the service, or use another person’s account.

Your content and moderation

You keep ownership of content you submit and give the beta permission to store, display, and deliver it as needed to operate the features you choose. The beta operator may investigate reports, remove content, suspend accounts, or permanently remove accounts to protect users and the service. Moderation cannot guarantee safety.

Beta availability

The service is offered for testing and may change, contain errors, lose data, pause, or end without notice. Features such as notifications and email depend on device settings and third-party services. Use the service at your own risk and keep independent plans for transportation and safety.

Ending use and changes

You may delete your account in Account settings. We may revise these terms as the beta develops and will update the effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.

Signed-in users can use Send beta feedback for support, privacy questions, bugs, or ideas. If you cannot sign in, contact the person who invited you.

These beta terms are a practical first draft and should receive legal review before a broad commercial launch.
